Portuguese Beans

Clean and wash dried beans, no need to soak. Use at least a 3 quart pan; cover beans with 2 inches of water bring to a boil. Add spices and simmer until beans tender. Add meats and simmer until meat is done. Stir in tomato sauce and coarsely chopped onion.

Serve with beef or chicken and lots of French bread.
